Coco Lapine On the Move

As I already announced in the previous post we have introduced the latest posters by Coco Lapine in our webshop: On the Move. There are 3 different ones, On the Move 1, 2 and 3 and we also added the Berlin Swim poster because we just love retro!
Now you can see them a bit closer. They arrived yesterday and I must say they are fabulous.

All posters are standard size 30x40 for easy framing. Many of you know the Ribba frames by Ikea. Personally I prefer Strömby because the frame is a little thinner. It makes it a bit more retro and elegant if you ask me. Strömby looks like the frames used in the first picture. The second picture looks like Ribba.

The face behind Coco Lapine is that of the Belgian designer Sarah van Peteghem. She lives in Berlin and her blog is an absolute must-read for Scandinavian interiors addicts. She does styling projects for Fantastic Frank, a Swedish real estate agent based in Sweden and Berlin that is much loved by bloggers.Their styling is incredible and the houses they sell on their website are so inspiring!

Zoals al aangekondigd in mijn vorige post introduceert Nordic Blends deze week de posters van Coco Lapine: On the Move. Er zijn 3 verschillende, On the Move 1, 2 and 3 en we hebben ook de heerlijke retroposter Berlin Swim.
Hierboven kun je ze wat beter zien. Ze zijn gisteren aangekomen en ze zijn echt heel bijzonder.

Alle posters hebben de standaardmaat 30x40 cm. Je kent ongetwijfeld de Ribba lijsten van Ikea. Persoonlijk heb ik de voorkeur voor Strömby omdat het frame wat dunner is. Ik vind het beter passen bij grafische en retroposters en het ziet er net wat eleganter uit, als je het mij vraagt. Strömby ziet eruit als op de lijsten op de 1e foto, die op de 2e lijkt een Ribba.

Achter Coco Lapine staat de Belgische Sarah van Peteghem. Zij woont in Berlijn en haar blog is een absolute aanrader voor fans van Scandinavische interieurs. Zij doet zelf ook styling voor o.a. Fantastic Frank, een onder bloggers zeer geliefde Zweedse makelaar met kantoren in Zweden en Berlijn. Hun styling is ongekend mooi en de huizen op hun website zijn altijd plaatjes om naar te kijken.

Nordic Inspiration: A tiny Berlin apartment Scandinavian style

This week we are introducing a new brand in our shop: Coco Lapine. You will find Coco Lapine's posters, which we discovered in the photos made from her styling work for real estate agent Fantastic Frank in Berlin.
The apartment on Schönhauser Allee is only 42 m2 and has 2 rooms. Although it is véry cozy in size, it does look a bit bigger with the fresh white and the minimalistic furniture with a Scandinavian feel.

Deze week introduceert Nordic Blends een nieuw merk: Coco Lapine. Wij vielen voor de prachtige grafische posters die zij maakt.

Deze ontdekten we op de foto's die gemaakt werden van haar stylingwerk voor makelaar Fantastic Frank in Berlijn. 

Het appartement in de Schönhauser Allee is slechts 42 m2 groot en heeft 2 kamers. Héél knus qua maat en door de lichte inrichting met sobere details in Scandinavische stijl (Coco Lapine's specialiteit) oogt het toch nog wat ruimer.

Op het eerste gezicht denk je: "Dit is weer zo'n typisch 'waarom?-ding" voor bier- en gadgetfanaten, maar dat is het niet. Hou je van bier, dan wil je daar op en top van genieten. 
Krijg jij altijd een mooie schuimkraag als je thuis een biertje drinkt? Niet dus. 
Dit is het antwoord: de Beer Foamer van Menu, ontworpen door Norm Architects. Ze ontwierpen al de beroemde Wine Breather voor wijn, en nu dan de Beer Foamer. 

In 30 seconden heb je een prachtig schuim op je bier, met mooie kleine bubbeltjes die het bier lekkerder maken. Simpel, that's it.
Voor bierfanaten, OK. Voor gadgetfanaten, OK. Maar ook voor de vrienden/vriendinnengroep die een biertje drinkt bij het WK voetbal. Of je vader die alles al heeft.

Norwegian design: COLOUR floor lamp for e15

COLOUR is the simple name for one of the new lamps by German company e15.
I was introduced to e15 through their amazing CM05 Habibi sidetables. I love the elegant lines and the brass and copper versions are a daring and luxurious choice for the home.

LT04 COLOUR was designed by Norwegian Daniel Rybakken and Andreas Engesvik in 2010. Now it has been 'adopted' by e15 and the striking colours of this fusion between art and lighting pops up all over the internet and in magazines.

You may know Andreas Engesvik from the Chunk candleholder he designed for Danish brand Menu and the Mhy lamp for Muuto.

COLOUR is de simpele naam van een van de nieuwe verlichtingsobjecten van het Duitse e15.
Ik leerde e15 kennen via hun geweldige CM05 Habibi sidetables. De elegante lijnen van deze tafeltjes zijn prachtig en vooral de messing en koperen versie kunnen een heerlijk luxe gevoel in je huis geven.

LT04 COLOUR is ontworpen door de Noorse designers Daniel Rybakken en Andreas Engesvik in 2010. Het ontwerp is nu in productie genomen door e15 en de opvallende kleuren van deze 'art meets lighting' lamp zorgen ervoor dat hij op internet en in de woonbladen veelvuldig te zien is.

Misschien ken je Andreas Engesvik al van zijn Chunk candleholder (voor Menu) en de Mhy lamp voor Muuto.

Nordic Inspiration: charming 70's bungalow in Denmark

This is the unexpected inside of the Louise and Frank Larsen's 70's bungalow in Denmark. When they bought it it was in a sad state but look at it now!

Dit is de onverwachte binnenkant van een vooraf nogal troosteloze bunglaow uit de jaren '70. De Deense Louise en Frank Larsen hebben er een gezellig gezinshuis van gemaakt.

Nordic Inspiration: Finnish minimalism

In the raw Finnish nature, close to the Gulf of Finland, lies the house of Hanna and Paavo Saarinen.
The 175 m2 white house from the eighties with black window sills is situated on a rock and was renovated vigorously by the talented couple. It looks minimalistic and inviting at the same time.
The fact that it is so well done is no wonder: Hanna is is marketing manager at Iittala and Arabia en designed furniture like the dining table and the sofa. Paavo works for Samsung and is 'responsible' for the enormous 65" TV in the living room.

I love the black woodwork. It frames the walls so nicely. I believe it is a huge barrier for most people to pick up a can of black paint and paint their rooms like this. White is so much safer. But look at the result. Isn't it stunning?

Like most Finnish houses Hanna and Paavo's has a sauna. And this is a very beautiful one too...

In de rauwe Finse natuur, bij de Finse Golf, ligt het huis van Hanna en Paavo Saarinen.
Het 175m2 grote, witte jaren 80-huis met zwarte kozijnen ligt op een rots en is door het stel grondig en met veel gevoel voor sfeer verbouwd. De inrichting is strak en minimalistisch en voelt uitnodigend. 
Ik vind het zwarte houtwerk geweldig. Het kadert de muren mooi in en vormt een krachtig contrast. Voor veel mensen zal het een stap te ver zijn om met een blik zwarte verf aan de slag te gaan, maar het resultaat is verbluffend!
Dat het huis zo mooi is geworden kan ook niet anders: Hanna is is marketing manager bij Iittala en Arabia en ontwierp diverse meubels zoals de eettafel en de bank. Paavo werkt voor Samsung en is 'verantwoordelijk' voor de enorme 65 inch TV in de woonkamer.
Zoals de meeste huizen in Finland heeft ook het huis van Hanna en Paavo een sauna. En ook die mag gezien worden!
