VT Wonen TV loft make-over with concrete lamps
Dutch interior design magazine VT Wonen recently introduced a make-over TV-series on SBS6.
Last night, in issue 10, an industrial loft was transformed by stylist Frans Uyterlinde. He did a fantastic job and many people commented this was the best make-over of this season.
I'm proud we had a small contribution to this make-over with the Edison lamps in concrete and glass by Swedish designer Tove Adman.
The concrete lamps were mounted over the dining table (see photo), the glass lamps were used as bedside lamps.
The owners, PA Wendy and DJ Jordy couldn't believe what they saw when they entered their new home and were extremely happy with the results.

VT Wonen is nu ook op TV met de serie 'Weer verliefd op je huis' op SBS6. Gisteravond, in aflevering 10, transformeerde stylist Frans Uyterlinde de industriële loft van PA Wendy en DJ Jordy in Eindhoven. Volgens velen de beste make-over van het seizoen.
Ik ben er trots op dat Nordic Blends een kleine bijdrage heeft kunnen leveren aan deze prachtige loft met de Edison lampjes in beton en glas van de Zweedse vormgeefster Tove Adman.
De betonnen lampjes kregen een plek boven de bijzondere eettafel en de glazen lampjes zijn gebruikt als bedlamp. De bewoners waren ondersteboven van de fantastische plek die Frans voor hun creëerde.

All is new at Norm Architects
My love for Norm Architects' style will probably last forever. The second posting on this blog, 3 1/2 years ago, was about them.
Last week they announced their new website and showed the most beautiful photos of their new studio in Copenhagen. They're such a pleasure for the eye and I love sharing them with you. The rooms are decorated in their sigature minimalistic style and it seems to leave plenty of room for people and their creative process.

Mijn liefde voor de stijl van Norm Architects' zal waarschijnlijk nooit voorbij gaan. De tweede posting op dit blog, nu 3 1/2 jaar geleden, ging al over hun.

Sneak peek at the new logo
It's been quiet on my blog lately. I'm so sorry for the silence, BUT here at the Nordic Blends office I'm working late hours restyling the webshop.
I decided some time ago it was time for a new webshop with more consumer friendly options and a better back office for myself. The current logo was also not entirely fit for the goal I have with Nordic Blends' collection. So I decided to take that to the next level too.
The new logo is powerful and timeless. It has been ready for some time now and my new business cards have been printed. They are a subtle grey with a bold copper print.
Subscribers to the newsletter have already seen it, but off course I wanted to let you guys have a look too!
In a few weeks the webshop will be ready... sit tight :-).
Het is een beetje stil geweest op mijn blog. Sorry voor deze radiostilte MAAR achter de schermen wordt keihard gewerkt aan de restyling van Nordic Blends webshop.
Enige tijd geleden besloot ik dat het tijd was voor een nieuwe webshop. Eentje met meer opties voor mijn klanten en een betere backoffice voor mezelf. En als ik toch een nieuwe shop ging bouwen, mocht het logo ook wel mee in de restyling.
Het nieuwe logo is krachtig en tijdloos. Ik ben er blij mee. Het is nu een tijdje klaar en de visitekaartjes zijn gedrukt. Ze zijn zachtgrijs met een opvallende koperen opdruk.
Abonnees op de nieuwsbrief hebben het al gezien, maar ik wil het jullie ook graag laten zien!
Over een paar weken is de nieuwe shop ook klaar... nog even :-)!

Nordic Inspiration: the home of graphic designer Rikke Albrechtsen
When you are a fan of Danish design you can consider taking a subscription to Danish interior design magazines. I can recommend it! From Bolig Magasinet comes this feature on the home of graphic designer Rikke Albrechtsen, owner at Quote Grafik.
Rikke changes her home quite a lot. It doesn't mean you have to drive by the furniture store every time. Putting a lamp in a different spot will have an instant effect. All you need to buy are some new cushions and a plaid and your room is magically transformed.
Keep the base in neutyral tones and stay away from plastic en bright colours, is her advice. Rikke's bank has been siiting there for 10 years and most art work are gifts from her parents.Would you ever notice?

Fleming Lassen's chairs sold at world record prices
Do you remember we announced the sale at auction of a few chairs designed by Flemming Lassen? One of them with an estimated price of DKK 1 million? Read the post here.
Well, 'The Tired Man', one of these easy chairs has been sold for a whopping EUR 235.600,-. Estimated price was EUR 83.080,-.
This makes 'The tired man' the most expensive chair ever sold in Denmark. The chair was designed in 1935 and upholstered with light brown sheepskin. It looks quite comfy and inviting indeed.
'Flemming's Chair', the chair estimated at DKK 1 million (EUR 135.000,-), was sold for EUR 148.000,-.
Flemming Lassen can now bear the title of creator of the four most expensive armchairs in Denmark, and the forgotten architect has been well and truly brought into the spotlight.

'Flemming's Chair' (geschat op DKK 1 miljoen) wisselde van eigenaar voor EUR 148.00,-.
Daarmee is de architect Flemming Lassen weer stevig op de kaart gezet als een van de meest invloedrijke architecten uit de Deense historie. Het record als ontwerper van de 4 duurste stoelen in Denemarken zal voorlopig nog wel even op zijn naam blijven staan.

A piece of Nordic Blends at the Woonbeurs 2014
Sometimes we are so lucky to see our products in a beautiful setting. This time stylist Marjolein Vonk used a selection of 'all white' items from our webshop in several rooms of the 101 woonideeën house at the Woonbeurs.
