Ferm Living fall 2014

It's always so rewarding to be one of the first to see the new Ferm Living catalogue. Ferm Living never disappoints. They will be the first to come up with a new graphic design, which will definitely then end up at other brands (blessed with less phantasy) a few seasons later. Ferm Living will then already have moved on to something new. They are true trend setters and we are so proud to be able to sell this brand in our webshop.

Here are some high lights from the new collection for Fall 2014.
New: rugs, mohair throws, marble tables and candle holders, night tables, Neu ceramics, the Enter collection, new wall papers and the popular oak kids lamps will be back!

Het is altijd weer een feestje om de nieuwe catalogus van Ferm Living te bekijken. Ferm Living stelt nooit teleur. Ze zijn de eersten die met een nieuw grafisch design komen, dat  een paar seizoenen later gegarandeerd bij andere, minder fantasievolle, merken opduikt. Ferm Living is dan alweer met iets nieuws bezig. Het zijn echte trendsetters en we zijn trots dit merk in onze webshop te mogen voeren.

In deze post zie je de high lights uit de nieuwe herfstcollectie 2014.
Nieuw: vloerkleden, mohair plaids, marmeren tafels en kandelaars, nachtkastjes, Neu serviesgoed, de Enter storage collectie, nieuwe behangdesigns en de populaire eiken wandlampjes voor de kinderkamer komen terug!

Travel pics summer 2014: Reykjavik

I was hoping it would be breathtaking and Iceland has lived up to every expectation.
We were not so lucky with the weather all the time, with a few rainy days spoiling our walks outside, not to speak about the greyish pictures I ended up with. But in everything else I can only say: you HAVE to go!
It's a one off experience and it doesn't require professional hiking gear if that is not your thing. I wore my normal clothes during the whole trip (but do take shoes you can comfortably walk on for a few hours). I even carried my handbag everywhere, surrounded by people with very serious backpacks. Anything goes. Oh, and bring your camera!
You will be rewarded with spectacular mountains covered in green moss, amazing waterfalls, black beaches and glaciers.
We landed in Reykjavik so today I'm showing you an impression of Iceland's capital.

Ik had al gehoopt dat het adembenemd zou zijn en IJsland heeft aan al mijn verwachtingen voldaan! 

Het weer was wisselend en door een paar verregende dagen zijn niet alle foto's even stralend geworden. Maar ik kan je maar een ding aanraden: GA! 
Het is een unieke ervaring en je kunt het ook gerust doen zonder professionele hiking outfit. Ik heb zelfs alle dagen in mijn winddichte, normale regenjas en met mijn handtas gelopen (terwijl ik heel wat serieuze rugzakken voorbij heb zien komen). Alles wat je nodig hebt is een wind- en waterdichte jas en schoenen waar je gemakkelijk op loopt, zoals een paar goede Nikes, Adidassen, of zoiets. En een goede camera!
Je wordt beloond met spectaculaire landschappen en bergen, overdekt met frisgroen mos, stoere watervallen, zwarte stranden en gletsjers.
Vandaag laat ik je wat van mijn foto's van Reykjavik zien. De rest van IJsland volgt binnenkort!

Nordic Inspiration: white, black and exotic art in Copenhagen

The inhabitants of this Copenhagen apartment live in a building with beautiful views over Copenhagen's skyline. It's decorated in a minimalistic style with mostly white and black walls and furniture.
The couple work in IT and furniture (yes, we can see that!) and they love to travel. The statues and art they collected on their trips can be found all over the apartment.

Dit appartement heeft een prachtig uitzicht over Kopenhagen en wordt bewoond door een stel dat werkt in IT en interieur (dat is te zien!). Het minimalistische appartement is overwegend in zwart-wit ingericht, wat een rustige, serene sfeer geeft. Het stel reist veel en graag en de 'vakantiesouvenirs' die herinneren aan de bijzondere plekken waar ze zijn geweest, hebben een mooie plek gekregen.

Hagedornhagen has made the most beautiful new items  for the coming fall/winter season.

Isbjerget in Aarhus (as seen in Dicte)

It flashes by quickly from time to time and you have to look closely but in the Danish TV series 'Dicte' you can admire the award winning 'Isbjerget' (the Iceberg), the most eye catching building of Aarhus.
It is situated in the Aarhus Bay and the appartments are just as gorgeous on the inside as they look on the outside.
They have high ceiling and interesting geometrical shapes and are, what else, the most beautiful in stark white.

Het komt in een flits voorbij af en toe en je moet snel kijken, maar dan kun je in de Deense TV-serie 'Dicte' de prijswinnende 'Isbjerget' (de ijsberg) bewonderen. Dit is het meest opvallende gebouw in Aarhus en ligt aan de baai van Aarhus.
Van binnen zijn de appartementen net zo adembenemend als van de buitenkant met hun hoge plafonds en geometrische vormen. Natuurlijk het mooist in zuiver wit!

Dicte wordt momenteel uitgezonden op zondagavond op Nederland 2.

Coco Lapine On the Move

As I already announced in the previous post we have introduced the latest posters by Coco Lapine in our webshop: On the Move. There are 3 different ones, On the Move 1, 2 and 3 and we also added the Berlin Swim poster because we just love retro!
Now you can see them a bit closer. They arrived yesterday and I must say they are fabulous.

All posters are standard size 30x40 for easy framing. Many of you know the Ribba frames by Ikea. Personally I prefer Strömby because the frame is a little thinner. It makes it a bit more retro and elegant if you ask me. Strömby looks like the frames used in the first picture. The second picture looks like Ribba.

The face behind Coco Lapine is that of the Belgian designer Sarah van Peteghem. She lives in Berlin and her blog is an absolute must-read for Scandinavian interiors addicts. She does styling projects for Fantastic Frank, a Swedish real estate agent based in Sweden and Berlin that is much loved by bloggers.Their styling is incredible and the houses they sell on their website are so inspiring!

Zoals al aangekondigd in mijn vorige post introduceert Nordic Blends deze week de posters van Coco Lapine: On the Move. Er zijn 3 verschillende, On the Move 1, 2 and 3 en we hebben ook de heerlijke retroposter Berlin Swim.
Hierboven kun je ze wat beter zien. Ze zijn gisteren aangekomen en ze zijn echt heel bijzonder.

Alle posters hebben de standaardmaat 30x40 cm. Je kent ongetwijfeld de Ribba lijsten van Ikea. Persoonlijk heb ik de voorkeur voor Strömby omdat het frame wat dunner is. Ik vind het beter passen bij grafische en retroposters en het ziet er net wat eleganter uit, als je het mij vraagt. Strömby ziet eruit als op de lijsten op de 1e foto, die op de 2e lijkt een Ribba.

Achter Coco Lapine staat de Belgische Sarah van Peteghem. Zij woont in Berlijn en haar blog is een absolute aanrader voor fans van Scandinavische interieurs. Zij doet zelf ook styling voor o.a. Fantastic Frank, een onder bloggers zeer geliefde Zweedse makelaar met kantoren in Zweden en Berlijn. Hun styling is ongekend mooi en de huizen op hun website zijn altijd plaatjes om naar te kijken.
